| CONSCIENCE OVER STOMACH"If I shall end up as a footnote in history, I shall be blissfully content of being remembered as one who chose principles over popularity and did what was right rather than what was expedient.” – Ralph Recto Expedient – the perfect word to sum up the greedy motives of our country’s present set of vicious politicians. No doubt about that, though I must impress on the struggling truth that there are good ones left. Only, we might just want to label them as ‘endangered species’, about to get extinct and be part of our history sooner. You won’t usually find me reading through broadsheets (not tabloids, please) since the ubiquitous sort of news flood these papers all the time. Crimes here, political chitchats there, couldn’t there be anything good to publish? Needless to say, I’m saddened with the current situation of our country, in general. There’s not much I know about politics but I don’t have to earn a related degree to recognize our plummeting condition. More often than not, I’m reticent on issues like this so it’ll be better if I stick to being discreet.
A good principle is what each one needs right now. But I understand that principles can’t halt the gastric juices from perforating our empty stomachs. Let’s just wish that the conscience of each citizen prevails. *crosses his fingers*
| IKNOWRIGHT!Two months of planning (really?) had been enough to make this get-together a full blast. Couldn’t help but say thanks to those who took the initiative in setting up the reunion details and in carrying out text brigades to notify people. I give full credits also to all those who showed up in spite of their busy schedule (as if!). Perhaps there could be a better way to close summer vacation but spending quality time with old friends you’ve not seen for ages, I think, is the most memorable way to end it. Of course, if there’s one thing we could’ve failed to do, it surely wasn’t picture taking. Would 70+ photos be enough as proofs? Haha. Iknowright! Check more of them here. Wouldn’t say more things here, the photos look good enough to do the narration for me. By the way, “Iknowright” is our word for the day. Oh yes, it’s a single word, without spaces, an expression to be more particular. | | |
| RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!The rain pours so strongly. The lightning strikes indiscriminately. The thunder’s roars are deafening. They’re super scary. Can’t accept that the rainy or should I say stormy season has finally approached. The current atmosphere appears so gloomy. Duh. As if the weather cares about my preference for sunny days. Well at least it’s not too hot these days. It’s still fresh to me that few weeks back, I had nearly suffered from heat stroke. Although now it’s not about suffering from heat stroke that I should worry, but must fret on loosing my sense of hearing because of such super thundering effect. Maybe the weather’s just grieving in my behalf since I totally screwed up both of my summer subjects. I’m quite disappointed with the results but God knows I fought for a higher grade if not the highest. Although I must say that the sad feeling materialized only for a couple of minutes. Things just happen to us for a reason, I suppose. *Sigh* Perhaps in the aftermath of this unstoppable downpour we may be able to enjoy the shower of blessings from heaven. I’ll just continue hoping that better things are yet to come. Can hardly wait for the breathtaking things in store for me this forthcoming first semester. Especially when you’ve got roughly all of the slots with neither sweat nor tears shed. So be it. | | |
| FIRST EVERSWhy can't I feel a tinge of depression amidst landing on my second line of 2 grade? If I know myself perfectly well, then the usual Jay would just do his usual trash talk. Possibly there's always a first or perhaps a second time for almost everything. No more whatnots at least for now. For a change, I’d rather share more positive things here. Speaking of first time, I had loads of it this newly concluded summer classes. Maybe these first times were the reasons why I have never wasted a thought on depress-depressan moments. In fact, I should be handing out ‘thank you’ posters if that would help me express my gratefulness. · Digital Camera. Alright, the gadget isn’t top class but it perfectly suits my specification for satisfactory photo capturing. Besides, the money used to buy this cam came from my pockets, meaning the cam’s mine only. Bwahahah!
· FINALLY, I have viewed a movie (Shrek 3) with my true blue and pseudo block mates. You’re free to call us losers if that really fits you’re description. But we’re too busy you know! And there’re no vacant times common to everybody so this is really something to be pleased about. · USB – MP3 Player. If I fancy being emo, all I gotta do is plug the headset into my ears and then… what? Emote, of course! The bonus is that there’s no need to burn CD whenever the need to transfer or bring files to school arises. Oh yes, I am fully aware that I’m the very last person to have this stuff. Good thing I hadn’t encountered anything rubbish on my first experience as a registered voter. ‘Cause if there was, I might as well reject the idea of a second time. But trust me, I sort of felt the spirit of nationalism before and after handing out my ballot. Hope and pray that those who were meant to be elected succeed despite of relentless cheatings. · Super CRS Luck. Can’t believe it happened though. I finally got my own slot in MBB 1, my dream MST subject, plus nabbed all my major and extra GE subjects. If my mind opts to change not any of these subjects, then perhaps this upcoming enrollment would be the most stress-free one for the record. Can’t think of more first times to share na. I bet this entry is long enough to feed this super hungry blog.
| SUMMER IS NOT FOR VACATIONI'm back! Oops, but not for long. Nanlilimos lang kasi ang blog ko. Done with my stress-free summer enrollment. I'm super glad I was able to dig up the subjects during the online pre-enlistment albeit my previous ill-fated CRS experiences. Because of that, the usual three-day enrollment procedure which has always been beyond my control miraculously turns into a less disturbing one-day routine. I just hope my succeeding attempts to enroll deliver me the same feeling of triumph I’m enjoying now if not better. One more good news, my final grades have also surfaced after two or three weeks of waiting. You should know what this means; I surely am ready now to compute for this semester’s GWA. I don’t have any intention of showing off here or whatsoever, but let me just say that I still have made it to US. Yehey! Four semesters of being US would make anyone proud of themselves. Haha! I may be the happiest person at this moment. Siyempre, iginapang ko ‘yan. The sad news, however, is that there’s no such thing as vacation for me this blazing season. It’s mandatory for me to endure five weeks of torturous and nonstop study of biochemistry. Well, at least it’s not biology per se, which never fails to give me either a headache or a nosebleed. On the whole it’s still chemistry, the only course which stimulates my inner scientific juices. I might as well enjoy it to avoid placing it in a category of trash experiences. I have once again proven the worth of focus, determination, skills and trust in God towards reaching a goal. Yet I deem that there’s still a room for improvement. Moreover, there’re also lots of things thus far waiting to be proven. All I need to do is keep this burning spirit alive, right? Aja! | | |
